ABOUT COLLECTION
Nongyu, daughter of King Mu of QIN, liked playing the flute and Sheng. The Sheng she played sounded like voice of dragon. She found Xiao Shi, the Xiao played by whom sounded like voice of phoenix. When they played together, it sounded like fairy music, which attracted the golden dragon and colorful phoenix to dance in the hall. Nongyu rode the phoenix and Xiao Shi rode the dragon, flying away in auspicious stars. When it comes to the dragon and phoenix, they are frequently seen in MUKZIN documents, including the dragon image on the Dragon King Hat in 2015, the dismantled dragon head bag of the Mao’er Theater in 2017, and the AI virtual dragon of the Dragon Scale Pavilion in 2020, all of which are presence of the dragon and phoenix. Mei Lanfang, a great master of Dan Role in Peking Opera and the founder of the Mei School, also had a work called You Long Xi Feng. The Mei School, dragon and phoenix had been blended in the long history, presenting like ink paintings. The dragon and phoenix of Mei School meet MUKZIN here, but doesn’t stop here.
