ABOUT COLLECTION
ABOUT COLLECTION
When it comes to pets, people living in the Northern Song Dynasty had a deep understanding. In the book "A Dream of Splendor", it depicts the hustle and bustle of human life. In the chapter "Various Peddlers", Mr Meng stated: "If you raise a dog, you provide an enclosure and feed; if you raise a cat, you provide cat food and small fishes." This glimpse into the care for cats of the people in the Song Dynasty highlights their love for these little felines. Visiting cat markets, adopting cats, and breeding cats and dogs were all activities that showcased the flourishing pet economy in the capital city of Northern Song Dynasty. The story of Emperor Qianlong's love for dogs is also widely known. He commissioned court painters to create the "Ten Dogs" painting to express auspiciousness and loyalty to the emperor and the country. Thousands of years later, the love for pets has integrated into our modern life. Our furry companions bring spiritual solace to the urban living. The indescribable emotional attachment has become the inspiration for the new collection of the "Limeng Dreams of Splendor" of MUKZIN.
MUKZIN has extracted the images of cats and dogs as creative elements and incorporated them into clothing, making the love visible. "Cats in Bamboo Brook" extracts the elements of cats from ancient folk porcelain and combines them with Chinese bamboo forests and antique plaything motifs, presenting a brand-new Eastern pattern. "Prosperous DragonLi" extracts cute cat and bow tie patterns from vintage candy wrappers, presenting a lively and interesting image. In modern society, people like living alone or in a small social hub. When those gentle eyes gaze at you, it brings joy and tranquility to your heart. The heart, filled and warmed by these small animals, naturally cherishes every living being.
